TUESDAY 9th March
NICK PYNN + INVOCAL

NICK PYNN a maverick electro-acoustic ‘player tunewriter’ who performs on violin, mandocello, steel-string guitar, lap dulcimer, 5-string banjo and wine glasses, whilst live-looping and bass-pedalling with his feet. Nick Pynn has also performed as a multi-instrumentalist with many musicians and comedians over the years, including Steve Harley, Otis Lee Crenshaw (Rich Hall), Boothby Graffoe, Jane Bom-Bane, Stomp and Arthur Brown. Last year Nick won the Latest Star of the Brighton Festival award and the Three Weeks Editor’s Award with Jane Bom-Bane for their Fringe venue in Brighton. In 2005, he won Edinburgh’s Spirit of the Fringe award for his solo show of original compositions,

INVOCAL are a female acoustic band that perform with cello, guitar, oboe and harmonious voices - described as having dark gypsy folk tugging from one side and an all out west end musical tugging from the other. Their songs tell tales of modern life - with caustic and bawdy humour, powerful and moving lyrics and (most days) expert musical prowess.

"This cute band from Northampton are caustic, funny, engaging and so damn harmonic they're hard to put down" CURVE MAGAZINE

So why the new look?  Well it's all gone a bit wrong...  not our choice but technical difficulties in other words, our apologies, normal service will be returned sometime over the weekend when we get a chance to take it all to pieces and put it back together again...
